Just wanted to take a few minutes to wish all of you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!
We’ve still been busy attending to Roger’s mom…seems like there’s always a doctor’s appointment or something that needs to be done in addition to our daily visits to check on her. The second metal plate in her arm didn’t stay in place either so we’re hoping that she’ll have at least some movement of her elbow after the bones have time to heal. She seems to be doing as well as can be expected considering her broken arm, the disease she has and the emotional strain of having lost her independence.
We expect her to be in the rehab facility until around the first of February and we’re comfortable with the excellent level of care she’s receiving there. That being the case, we’re (tentatively?) planning on leaving here after Christmas and going first to my brother’s in New Iberia, LA, and then to meet friends in Rockport, TX. We’ll come back here (probably without the motorhome) for a week or so at the end of January to get her moved to a new facility—hopefully, to an assisted living apartment that will provide enough services to meet her needs.
We still have her dog so it should be interesting when we get to an RV Park to see how Roger likes following him around with a plastic bag! ;-)
This will likely be our last post this year, but once we get back out and doing some FUN things, there will be something more interesting to report!

ReplyDeleteI hope all is goes well with Roger's Mom. Reading your blog reminds me of our winter last year with my Dad.
We are heading to S. Texas the end of January. Hope we can meet for a visit someplace!
