Saying Goodbye to Eagle Nest and New Mexico

Sadly, our stay in Eagle Nest is coming to an end for this year. We’ll be heading back to Arklahoma tomorrow—IF we don’t wake up to rain! We're retired, after all, so if it's raining, we'll just delay traveling for another day or two. According to Rand McNally it's 692 miles from Eagle Nest to Fort Smith, so it may take us at least 3 days for the trip--After all, we're retired and don't have to rush!

We’ve made a lot of wonderful new friends here at Weather’s RV Park and look forward to seeing many of them again next summer. The trees haven’t started turning colors yet, but the mornings are getting crisp and the afternoons aren’t as warm as they were even a week ago. Before we leave, though, I'd like to share a few more pictures with our readers, like these of the view of Eagle Nest Lake as we come over the mountains from the east:
