Back to the Beach

After spending about 10 days (and a 12-hour drive each way) in Fort Smith, we've returned to the coast. We'd left the motorcoach at Ron and Nancy's place in Magnolia Beach while we were gone and stayed there from last Thursday night until Sunday then moved to Gulf Waters RV Resort in Port Aransas. Here's where we were parked at Ron and Nancy's....we're behind and to the right of the house:
While we were there, the Magnolia Beach Volunteer Fire Department had their fire truck out for a drive down the beach. Actually, they came by later driving their “slightly” newer truck, but we thought this picture might be of special interest to our fireman friend, Steve, from Lubbock:
At Gulf Waters the sites are individually owned, the landscaping is beautiful, there's a pool and hot tub and it's just a short walk across the dunes to the beach...of all the parks we've stayed at, this one truly deserves the title "Resort". Since we'd had to change our reservations when it became necessary to make the trip to Fort Smith, the site we were supposed to have wasn't available when we arrived, so it meant taking one spot and then moving to one with a view of the pond when someone left. This is the first site we were on:

The weather has fluctuated between thundershowers the day we arrived to sunny and warm Monday and sunny but cool Tuesday. Yesterday was perfect—high's about 80, light breeze, clear blue skies and not a cloud to be seen! Looking forward to more days exactly the same so I can soak up some Vitamin C (and D and whatever else is good in the sunshine).
Our friends Barb and Fred came to the park Monday and we all went to Rockport for lunch at the China A Buffet. They've left now to go back to Indiana and we'll really miss them.
