Free of another house

It's been a busy week! I had baby-sitting duties a couple of days this week while the little one's grandmothers were both working and his mom was looking for a job--hard to believe he's already six weeks old! But I enjoyed it tremendously and he's still at the age where he mostly just eats and sleeps.

Saturday was the auction for Roger's mom's house and "stuff", so a lot of the week was spent taking some of our own things we still had in storage over to sell. We'd also shopped for and gotten her a new flat-panel TV to go on the wall, so her old TV and stand had to be moved to the house. The week was filled with apprehension because with her condition we all felt it would be best for her to stay away but she insisted that she needed to be there. We relented and picked her up about 9:30 the morning of the sale, parked in the neighbor's driveway and sat her in a chair in the shade where she could see a little of what was going on without being "in the middle" of it all.

It was a BEAUTIFUL day with clear blue skies and temp in the 70's early and barely above 80 in the afternoon! The house was sold by 10:15 (bringing a decent and fair price!), and after a couple of hours of little stuff being sold, she was tired and decided she was ready to go "home". The sale didn't end until almost 5:00 so it was a long day for us, but it's such a burden off our shoulders--and off her bank account. Roger's SO excited that he no longer has to rake leaves in the fall and clean maple leaf "whirlygigs" out of the gutters in the spring and tend the waterfall/fish pond twice a year! It's almost as much of a relief as when we sold our own house five years ago.

We don't plan on doing much of anything for a few days, so don't be expecting a blog update for awhile.
