Bobby & Melba were anxious to get to Silverton, but we THOUGHT we were going to stop for another night. They pulled out early Wednesday morning, leaving us to wait for the train to pass, check messages on the internet and get one last load of laundry washed before we left.
Our day kinda went downhill from there. The washer in the motorhome took longer than I’d thought to do a load, so we didn’t get away from the park until about 11 a.m. We’d planned to stay at the Sky Ute RV Park in Ignacio, CO, but never saw a sign for the highway we should have taken (must have been where we saw major road construction) so we ended up in Pagosa Springs. No problem—we knew another way, but when we got to Ignacio, we couldn’t find find the RV park and when we did, we quickly decided this was NOT a place we wanted to spend the night!
Since it was still only 2 p.m. we decided to go on to Silverton. A guy behind us kept flashing his lights so Roger pulled over and stopped to check the toad and motorcycle but found nothing wrong so he decided it must have been the uneven ruts in the highway and we proceeded on. Stopped for fuel in
