Silverton, CO

This is the ninth summer that we’ve come to Silverton and we’ve made a lot of friends from other places that we look forward to meeting each year. Scotty the Bernese (sp?) Mountain Dog has become one of Roger's best friends--he has to sit on Roger's feet and get his head petted every time he sees him. Scotty's owner, Walt, provided this pic of Scotty's costume and wagon from the Silverton July 4th Parade.We’re boondocking near town and when we first woke up yesterday morning it was so foggy we couldn’t see any of the surrounding mountains. But by about 8:00 the fog cleared around us and we were treated to one of the most awesome sights one could imagine:

Roger took his KLR650 on a short ride up the mountain to Molas Lake, leaving me to work on the day’s blog.

Sorry to say I've been having difficulty getting it just the way I want it to be seen, so posts seem to be running a little behind. One of these days I HOPE to get and stay current within a day or two!
