Arklahoma: Our home when we're not on the road

As we hit the road for the summer, I thought it would be a good time to post a few pics of some places around our home pad. This is our “campsite” in Rock Island, OK.

This view to the south and out our front door is that of Sugar Loaf Mountain at the northern edge of the Ouachita Mountain range.

We recently spent a week at Springhill Park on the Arkansas River when our Escapee friends, Janice and Dean were in the area. We took them to see just a few of the many sights in the area, including the NEW Lake Fort Smith Dam:

And the Old Fort Museum in Fort Smith. The museum contains a lot of interesting displays and information about “Hell on the Border”, as Fort Smith was known during the late 1800's, and (the Hanging Judge) Judge Isaac Parker’s courtroom. Here’s a pic of the gallows where numerous men were hung during that time:
