There are hundreds of hummingbirds in the RV park and we've really enjoyed watching their antics. Unfortunately they're faster than the shutter of a digital camera, but here are a couple of shots we got of them yesterday:

Roger's Motorcycle Ride
Thursday I stayed home and worked on our blog and Roger went for a motorcycle ride. He finally took time to stop and take a photo of the valley we've been told was used in the mini-series "Lonesome Dove".
He also saw some antelope and a herd of bison. Here's the antelope, but the pics of the bison didn't turn out:
The route he took brought him back through the Philmont Boy Scout Ranch....this photo gives a good overview of the ranch:
And this mountain peak is called the "Tooth of Time"...we were told about it the day we toured Philmont, but can't remember the significance of it.

By the way, I seem to be having problems doing the blog on a daily basis and I don't like to cram too much into one post so you may be finding a couple of days worth of entries on the same day....if it's too confusing for there to be more than one NEW post at a time, please let me know. In fact, we'd appreciate your comments for whatever reason--just to let us know if anyone's reading! Just click on the "comments" at the end of a post and if you don't have a Google account, click on "URL/Name" to identify yourself and then add your comments. If you prefer your comments not be published, just say so and I'll keep them private.

I always enjoy reading your blog and seeing your pictures, even if you don't post something every day.
ReplyDeleteI'm checking in every day or so. Glad to see your having good weather. It's been raining here since Thursday with snow on Pikes Peak! Isn't Morphy Lake pretty - I would love to camp there, but like you said, nothing over 18 ft! Oh well.
